The Goldston 7.5-minute Quadrangle is in the east central-portion of the North Carolina Piedmont with the unincorporated communities of Goldston, Gulf and Carbonton within the quadrangle. The local transportation corridor of US highway 421 is in teh northeast portion of the quadrangle and SR 42 in the southeast portion.
